What Business in a Box is and isn't

The £299 package gets used by founders who want a clean start. Here's a precise list of what's included — and what isn't.

Business in a Box is the most-bought Incorpwise product. The pitch is short — "clean UK company setup, done properly, £299." The price feels like it could only cover the basics. The actual scope is wider than that, and it's worth being precise.

What's included in the £299

  1. UK Ltd formation via Companies House ACSP. Direct filing — we're an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, not a reseller. Memorandum, Articles, share allocation, registered office (London), first confirmation statement.
  2. Statutory registers. Members, directors, secretaries, PSC register, charges register. All compliant from day one.
  3. Bank account introduction. Pre-vetted referral to one of three UK business banking partners (Tide, Allica, or Cashplus — depending on your business profile). Application support if it's a first-time setup.
  4. Payroll setup. PAYE scheme registered, first payroll configured for director + 2 employees. RTI submissions ready for month one.
  5. First-year accounting roadmap. Written plan covering Companies House and HMRC deadlines for your first 18 months — confirmation statement, first accounts, first Corporation Tax return, VAT thresholds.
  6. RRA / MTD enrolment (if applicable). If you have rental income, we enrol you in the landlord tax subscription as part of the box, no additional setup work.
  7. Accountancy partner intro. One of our four vetted accountancy partners. Not paid for by the box — but the warm introduction often gets you a discounted onboarding rate.

What's not included

Equally important to be precise about:

Where the £299 number actually comes from

The straight Companies House filing fee is £50. Our work on the box is roughly four hours of professional time across formation, payroll setup, banking intro, and the written roadmap. The £299 covers the filing fee plus our time at a rate that works for both sides — substantially below what a high-street accountant would charge for the same scope (typically £800–£1,200), but with the constraint that we don't do the ongoing work.

Business in a Box is a clean start, not a full-service relationship. We hand you off to the right ongoing partners properly.

When the box is right

When the box isn't right: multi-shareholder cap tables with vesting, complex group structures, or anything that needs proper legal review on the share class side. For those, we form the company and refer to a corporate lawyer.

Start the box from the home page. £299 paid via Stripe link, formation filed within four working hours.
